Last day of vacation

Last day of vacation and tomorrow it's back to work. Tonight for supper is jambalaya and salad. Dessert is Apple cake with coconut brown sugar topping. Dogs are munching on something Mark gave them and trying to watch Glen Beck on GBTV.

Warriors

This is a warriors quilt I did for the PTSD ward I worked on. The guys followed my progress and when it was completed I gave the quilt to the Head of the PTSD Program.
A younger, skinnier me!

I had to post this quilt picture as it was absolutely fabulous. The colors just pop and the quilting background background just makes the picture more realistic. Cudo's to the quilter.

When my mom passed away I inherited most of her craft and sewing things as my sisters really had no interest in doing these things. I guess I inherited my craftiness (no pun intended) from my mom. These were some blocks she had cut out, enough to make two or more quilts, which I wasn't sure what she had intended for them. So I am putting them to good use making quilts for the QOV program which gives a quilt to returning wounded warriors from Iraq. I think my mother would be pleased with this and is smiling down on me. My mom was a lady with many talents, there wasn't anything she wouldn't try to do at least once. She quilted, sewed, knitted, crocheted, and painted. She even made the victorian type lamp shades. Mom was giving to all and loved to visit with everyone. I miss her very much!

The Houses

I don't remember who quilted this but it struck a chord in my heart. With the Biblical verses and the quaint houses reminded me of home and mom.

Judy L's Brownwood Retreat.

This is Krista's Orca Bay, Isn't it magnificant? She is very talented, I was so glad to get to know her. She flew in from Canada, Loved the accent and admired all her quilts she worked on. Hope we get to meet again next year.
